Study Management

Studies in Cygnus follow a defined lifecycle: create, configure, generate, review, and optionally unlock to modify. This section covers how to manage your studies throughout that lifecycle.

Study Lifecycle

1. Create a study from the toolbar or Ephemerides menu
2. Configure its parameters (date range, bodies, metrics)
3. Run the ephemeris generation
4. Review the generated data in the data grid
5. Unlock the study if you need to modify parameters (clears generated data)

Organizing Studies

• Study Name -- Assign descriptive names for easy identification
• Study Selection and Navigation -- Switch between studies using the studies list
• Copy Study -- Duplicate a study to create a variation without re-entering parameters
• Delete Study -- Remove studies that are no longer needed
• Reorder Studies -- Drag and drop studies in the list to organize them

Generation Controls

• Run Ephemeris Generation -- Start generation and populate the data grid
• Cancel Ephemeris Generation -- Stop an in-progress generation
• Unlock Study -- Return to configuration mode after reviewing results
