Geocentric Ephemeris
A Geocentric Ephemeris study generates tables of planetary positions as seen from Earth's center at regular time intervals. This is the most common perspective used in astrological research, placing the Earth at the center of observation.
Creating a Geocentric Ephemeris Study
You can create a new Geocentric Ephemeris study in either of these ways:
- Click the Geocentric Ephemeris button on the toolbar
- Select Ephemerides > Geocentric Ephemeris from the menu

A new study appears in the studies list on the left side of the window with its configuration panel displayed on the right.
Configuration
The study configuration panel includes the following parameters:
- Study Name -- A descriptive name for this study
- Location -- The geographic location for calculations
- Zodiac -- Select between Tropical and Sidereal zodiac systems
- Ref. Plane -- Select between Ecliptic and Equatorial reference planes
- Start Date and Start Time -- When the ephemeris begins
- End Date -- When the ephemeris ends
- Interval and Time Unit -- The spacing between records (e.g., 1 Day, 6 Hours)
Below the configuration fields, the Bodies list lets you select celestial bodies and the Metrics list lets you select which positional data to display.

Generating the Ephemeris
After configuring all parameters and selecting at least one celestial body, click the Run button at the bottom of the study view to generate the ephemeris. For more details, see Run Ephemeris Generation.
The Geocentric Ephemeris is ideal for traditional astrological work. If you need positions that account for your specific location on Earth's surface, use the Topocentric Ephemeris instead.
