Topocentric Aspect Ephemeris
A Topocentric Aspect Ephemeris study generates planetary positions and angular relationships between body pairs from a specific location on Earth's surface. It combines the parallax-aware accuracy of topocentric calculations with the angular relationship tracking of aspect ephemeris studies.
Creating a Topocentric Aspect Ephemeris Study
You can create a new Topocentric Aspect Ephemeris study in either of these ways:
- Click the Topocentric Aspect Ephemeris button on the toolbar
- Select Ephemerides > Topocentric Aspect Ephemeris from the menu
A new study appears in the studies list with the same tabbed configuration interface as the Geocentric Aspect Ephemeris.
Configuration
The Topocentric Aspect Ephemeris uses the same configuration parameters and tabbed layout as other aspect ephemeris studies:
- Study configuration fields -- Study Name, Location, Zodiac, Ref. Plane, Date Range, Interval
- Inner & Outer Bodies tab -- Select inner (faster-moving) and outer (slower-moving) bodies
- Body & Aspect Metrics tab -- Select positional and aspect metrics
The coordinate origin is fixed to Topocentric. The selected location determines the observer position for all calculations, affecting both positional data and angular relationships.
The location selection is particularly important for topocentric studies. Different observer locations produce different positional results, especially for the Moon.
