Study Configuration

Every ephemeris study in Cygnus has configurable parameters that determine what data Cygnus generates. This section covers all available configuration options.

Configuration Parameters

  • Date Range -- Set the start date, start time, and end date for the ephemeris
  • Time Interval -- Define the spacing between records (e.g., every 1 day, every 6 hours)
  • Celestial Bodies -- Select which bodies to include in the ephemeris
  • Ephemeris Metrics -- Select which positional metrics appear as columns in the results
  • Aspect Metrics -- For aspect studies, select which angular relationship metrics to display
  • Location -- Select a geographic location for the calculations
  • Zodiac System -- Select between Tropical and Sidereal systems
  • Reference Plane -- Select between Ecliptic and Equatorial coordinates

Standard vs. Aspect Studies

Standard ephemeris studies have a single body list and metrics list side by side. Aspect ephemeris studies use a tabbed interface with separate inner (faster-moving) and outer (slower-moving) body lists, plus additional aspect-specific metrics. See the Ephemeris Studies overview for a comparison.
